I managed to win this piece on Sunday since nobody overbid me while I was at work.



I was kind of surprised at the lack of information provided by CAPS for this one, usually they give at least a little bit of background on the artist. There is also no mention of it being included in the Sakai Project Book.

This is Cool! This is an Original piece of art by Digital Artist... -ND!- Genen. This is an original "Usagi" painting. This is done in Watercolor on wc paper and is about 9 1/2 X 12 1/2 inches in size.

Just wondering if you might have contributed an Usagi Yojimbo watercolor painting to the CAPS Benefit auction to help Stan and Sharon Sakai with their medical expenses.
The auction listing did not provide the usual little bit of information on the artist for the piece, just "Digital Artist ND! - Genen" and your name came up when I ran a google search for Stan Sakai's name, the word auction and the name Genen....
Anyways, I was just curious since I (surprisenly) won the auction for the piece and I think it is a cool piece of Usagi art.

Hey there Steve! Wow, you really got me by surprise there! To directly answer your question: YES, I did this water colour drawing of Usagi. But the fun thing is that I was looking at the listings every week, but never saw my name appearing, so 2 days ago I sent a message to CAPS just to ask if they GOT my drawing...and also another, digital one this time, that I did for the book...but didn't get any answer yet...
so now I'm the more surprised that my pic actually WAS up for auction (as for some reason (regional issues...?) I never see the whole listing of the auction on ebay...AND I'm the more surprised, happy and HONOURED that somebody actually DID bid on it, so, once again, yes, it was me...!
if you need any more information, just ask. I hope you'll be having fun with the image; it was one of the very rare occasions I took out my water colours...

That's funny. I must have met him/seen him several times, since I visit the annual Comic-Festival in Luxemburg every year.

I didn't know, that there is a luxemburgian Artist with an Usagi-enthusiasm, have to check this out in July this year.

You can tell him there's an issue with eBay and the listings that CAPS are putting up. Even though they are listed as shipping worldwide, they are only showing up in searches when you use eBay.com website, probably because I think you have to pay extra now to make them visible to users of other subsites. I can't see them at all using eBay UK for example, so I suspect the same applies to ND here as he is in Belgium. Hence the only reason I know they exist and can see and bid of them is due to here and using the eBay.com website to view the listings.

Hello Steve & and the others who are interested:


I met Andy (ND!) yesterday at the festival in Contern/Luxemburg.

He is a very kind person and we had a nice little chat during the sketching session.

But, the longer grewing queue behind me made us interrupting it and continueing in the mid-time-break.

He sends back greetings to the UY-dojoers and is very happy, that his painting made it to the book.
