shaxper wrote:Just watched the film, roel, and it positively blew my mind. While it was an amazing adaptation of Usagi (I loved all the cameos at the end, as well as the Zato Ino wanted poster!), what's most impressive is just how high quality this piece is as stop animation in its own right. Has anyone EVER successfully pulled off martial arts combat via stop animation previously? This was...amazing.

And all the minor environmental details at the beginning -- the blustering rain storm, the crackling fire, even the realism of the fish on the cutting board.

We always knew you had talent, roel, but this is extraordinary. You're destined for greatness
Wow shaxper, thank you for the great praise. Actually my friend was very excited to animate the martial arts scenes. He's worked on most of the stop motion movies and has never been able to animate a fight and was drooling at the chance too. I had a more elaborate fight scene planned out but time and the quality of the puppets limited what we could do. Don't worry, with a real budget for the movie it will look 100x better then what we could do here. By the way the alternate fight scene will be in the Dvd. Thanks again for the great praise. Can you please write your comment on YouTube or Lintika. The more comments I have the better for me to show the investors the interest. I will be speaking to them tomorrow. Thx

that was rather awesome. definitely the best iteration of usagi on screen.

i liked the little editing trick at the beginning with the rain water bubbles and switching to bubbles on the stew pot.

Thank you all for your great comments and support!!! I love reading your comments and love how descriptive they are. It seems like you understand what I was going for with the mood and atmosphere. I definitely tried to keep the essence of Usagi intact.

If you guys are able to, could you also please copy your comments from here and paste it onto youtube. I know Shaxper and a few others have done so already. I'm setting up meetings with investors and it would be great to show them the interest for an usagi film. Kyle Wright, a dojo member is completely right when he commented "If Roel and his team can do this on no budget, just imagine what they could do with a real budget". I'm paraphrasing but that was the gist of his comment.

I'm also sure that there are more dojo members here other then the handful that have commented on the film. It would be great to rally them to see the film. The more interest the better it is to secure funding. We have over 7k views on youtube which is great but we need lots more. The movie I have in mind would be very epic. I hope we can rally more members to this cause.

Thanks again all!!

Did so, but it was an act! Old youtube-acc didn't work anymore as I wanted it to :? Google, Google+, Google everywhere!

Anyway. Now it's on.
