Usagi Movie HELP

Post by roel »

Hi guys,

I'm speaking with investors and want to show that there is an international appeal for Usagi. Is there anyway we can get everyone to take pictures of themselves reading Usagi by famous landmarks? I'm thinking by the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, White House, Golden Gate Bridge etc. More people in the pictures the better.

Only send your pictures if you are okay with me putting you on a DVD that I will be leaving with investors which will be part of a bigger "sizzle" reel that I will be leaving with the investors. I also might have your pictures in the "The last request" DVD. So please submit pictures only if you are ok in giving me and Lintika FIlms permission to publish your pictures. You can also put up the comic book to cover your face. I just need the comic book by famous landmarks. Please post your pictures on this thread and I can just grab it from here.

Todd and Steve, can we send out an "all messages" to ask members if they can do this? I would need pictures by early next week for my pitch. Things are looking pretty good so far. Youtube is at about 38k views and getting 99.9% positive reviews. Hopefully we can break over 40k by end of this week. We have also been featured in many different websites. Please continue to spread the word and writing comments.

Thanks,

Roel

I will post this request on the Usagi Dojo facebook page which has a pretty extensive international following. And I know just the picture to go with the request....

Unfortunately I don't work in London any more, and we have Monday off here, so I won't even be out and about in general. Not sure if I'm going to be able to help with a photo this time.

Does it have to be near famous monuments/places in particular? The nearest for me is Downtown Riverside near the Mission Inn.

Yes please. I would prefer a picture by a landmark but if it's too far away, then anywhere will be okay. The reason I want it in a landmark is so that the investors can see at a first glance where people are reading Usagi.

You can also send the pictures to rokutoys@gmail.com and they will forward the pictures to me. Cut off date would be this Friday by 9pm for the pictures.

Thank you.

Usagi has also been translated into a number of languages--Spanish, French, Croatian, Czech, Portuguese (Brazil), Swedish, Fin, Dutch, Norwegian, Indonesian, Italian, German, Polish, and Hungarian.

I'll leave it to Steve Hubbell to point out any mistakes I've made or any languages I've forgotten. :)

You listed all of the "official" translations that I have heard of.

Most of Book 1 and 2 have been unofficially translated by fans into Chinese, and I believe all of volume 1 (Fantagraphics) and volume 2 (Mirage) have been unofficially translated by fans into Russian.

Still waiting to run across anything concerning a rumored upcoming official Japanese (Okinawan) translation.

Nearest landmark was the "Porta Nigra" (roman, 2000 years old) in Trier, Germany.

Hope, you can use on of the two photos.

PS:
Maybe it would be fun, to post the photos somewhere around here in the forum, too?
I always wondered how some of you folks look like...

I haven't seen Roel on the boards in almost a year and haven't heard any updates since then. Anybody know if the movie project is still in the works?

Is this for the Usagi Claymation film that was shown at Comicon a couple of years ago? Not a rich man but would be willing to contribute to a Usagi Movie Kickstarter campaign. Wish you the best.
