will ask my better half to do the same, as... well... she's got a better phone/camera than me!

Re: Usagi on the stage
have arrived (ludicrously early, but then again, we've travelled from Edinburgh just for this!) and...
there's a full-sized poster on the window, they're selling some usagi books in the foyer (this is *really* cool. there's volume one, the art of and saga volume one!)
have already snaked a programme and flyer, and if Mayhem doesn't beat me to it, will post pics upon my return home!

Re: Usagi on the stage
This is more of a group request than a personal one....
I wonder if it would be possible to somehow acquire "programmes and flyers" for our international cast of Dojo members that can not attend?
I, for one, would like to get a copy of each, and would be more than happy to pay for postage... and I assume other members would too.

Re: Usagi on the stage
would be interested in that as well;)
also, I just asked by email the theater if they would consider-if successful enough- to take this show on the road in the future.and I couldn't help myself and asked too if there was a possibility that they would record the show and put out a dvd or blu ray including interviews with participants and behind the scenes videos;)...
I know it seems unlikely but one should never stop dreaming;)...

how to acquire poster/ flyer from Usagi on the stage
Dear Readers,
Yesterday, I connected with the Southwark Playhouse via facebook asking for a poster, flyer, etc.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Southwar ... 9049141242
Southwark Playhouse is not just as a theatre venue but is a local community and educational resource.
Here is the response:
"Hi "go", happy to post you a poster.
We are a charity and can't afford to post abroad so would it be possible to make a donation to help us with postage?
You can donate through our website so if you do that and send the transaction reference I could send you a poster/show progamme."
The donation process was easy.

Best wishes to all!

curses!!
I'm only just back at the hotel, and read this and didn't snake any additional copies
I will however scan my programme and post it here!
apologies for my foolishness...
I really enjoyed this! it managed to convey the humour, pathos, wit and humanity of Stan's work. I felt it was faithful to the spirit of Stan & Usagi

Re: Usagi on the stage
Yeah, if I'd seen these posts earlier, I could have bought a few extra programs (they were 2.50 GBP each).
Met up with RS2 and his lovely wife, was good seeing you both finally
And yes, the adaptation was pretty faithful to the source material, and injected some extra humour to proceedings. There were a couple of deviations, Usagi's mother is in the first couple of scenes and never appears (iirc) in the comics, and Mariko visits Usagi during his training, but if you didn't know the original material up the wazoo, then it still felt completely natural and runs well with the story. Rest assured, this play is a fitting tribute to Usagi and definitely well worth watching if you are anywhere near London.
I took a fair few photos, I don't think I was supposed to as I got told off near the end of the play, but hey, I was doing it for the benefit of everyone here, and especially Stan, so I'm giving myself a free pass there heh. Also got a couple of short videos. I need to jump in the shower and get to bed shortly, so I'll probably not upload them until tomorrow.

Taking photos in the theatre is generally frowned upon.Mayhem wrote:I took a fair few photos, I don't think I was supposed to as I got told off near the end of the play

Re: Usagi on the stage
It was press night, so I figured some other folks might be taking photos as well heh. Or not. I have no idea. But as said, I was allowing myself a little rule break for everyone here, especially Stan. All photos were taken discreetly and with no flash. And it was a lot of fun!

What a cool set design. I love the colored lights - sets the mood well. As I'm sure the music did too. Thank for taking the pictures and posting! Peace, maka
