Kitsune Spotting

Post by Avylin »

A friend pointed me towards a spiffy pic of Kitsune. I don't know if it technically counts as fanart, but, well, I know what I like.

The artist's own description:

"A while back a friend asked if I would do a cover illustration for a Gift DVD he was makeing for his friend Stan Sakai... Yes, the Sakai of Usagi:Yojimbo.
Here's Stans very popular character Kitsune doing some of her balancing top tricks.
Kitsume is (C) Stan Sakai... and yes, I did get his permission :D"

(Edit: URL cut, it's being mirrored below.)

Ahh, thanks. Now I can remove the URL and stop worrying that my warning would only encourage people. :}

Can't be fan art. Fan art is so often unskilled as to make "unskilled" a defining term :wink:

This piece was done for a UYD member named Mike Hirtes. I think the artist is Eric Simmons. He wanted to create a special DVD of Usagi-related video for Stan. I supplied him with copies of Stan's KCET interview, an interview I did at Gary's Corner Bookstore, and the Space Usagi short. I was fortunate enough to get a copy too. It also contained the two TMNT episodes with Usagi. Very cool.

That's NICE...they should put that on the UY episodes of TMNT when that comes out on DVD...tomorrow, we can see it!
