Re: 2015 Convention Schedule
If my work schedule permits, I'll be going to the signing on Jan 17th.
I also just applied for a professional badge for LBCE, so we'll see if I can't attend that as well.

Re: 2015 Convention Schedule
I probably will not be doing sketches because I will be signing a lot of Star Wars comics. Not only for the people who show up, but also for the preorders.maichan wrote: Stan,
Regarding Corner Store Comics/BeachBall Comics -
Will you only be signing, or is there a chance of you doing quick sketches like you do at conventions?
I can understand if not, due to the limited time factor.
You've done two 'seasons' for me, and I'm in need two more...

I will be giving away one free copy of my Witcher variant cover (from Dark Horse) for every one of my Star Wars variant bought, as supplies last.jabba359 wrote:If my work schedule permits, I'll be going to the signing on Jan 17th.

This is all great news - thanks for releasing your schedule, Stan. I'm planning to go to Baltimore for the first time this year, so I should see you there. Have you ever been to C2E2 or NYCC? I'd love to see you come to one of them, as those are my mainstays each year.

Another vote for this, Mr Sakai. I have never attended a Comic event in my life but if I knew you were there, being about an hour north of NYC, I would make sure to be there!Ghost9 wrote:This is all great news - thanks for releasing your schedule, Stan. Dear UYDers,
I will not be able to make the January 17th signing. Cheryl and I have a meeting for the non-profit we volunteer for. I'm sorry to miss you all.
Peace, maka

Re: 2015 Convention Schedule
Attendance seemed pretty good for the Star Wars signing. It was busy during the first hour and a half or so that I was there, with the line growing and shrinking but never disappearing. I saw a piece of Stan's original art that I wanted to ask about, but it never slowed down enough for me inquire as I didn't want to hold up the line. Stan, if you're reading this, it was the one with Usagi in full armor riding the subway (or a bus). What is the story behind that piece? I thought it was pretty hilarious imagining Usagi going to battle via public transportation next to the guy heading in to the office. I probably should have just bought it there, but if you still have it at Long Beach I'll likely pick it up at that show.
As promised, Stan had piles of The Witcher to give out to everyone. I picked up both versions of Stan's Star Wars cover as well as The Artist UY Color Special, as I hadn't bought it yet.
Line outside (after the first 15 people or so were let in):

Line inside:

The black and white version cost more, but I actually prefer the colored version:

And the other pair I picked up:

Re: 2015 Convention Schedule
Thanks for sharing with us Kyle.
I wasn't able to go... my wife worked a lot of overtime this week, and needed a change of pace from her usual weekend routine, so we went somewhere different on our Saturday outing.
It's good to see the signing was popular... I will have to try and get the Star Wars book online now. I hope to make it to the Long Beach Comic Expo though.

Thanks for sharing the pics.
Are you referring to the image below? If so, it can be found in UY Sketchbook #11. It's part of the story A Day in the Life.

Great update. Thanks for that! I've always loved that Samurai Jack episode where he is chasing the white rabbit girl and rides on the subway, etc. One of my favorites. Sounds a bit similar.jabba359 wrote:Attendance seemed pretty good for the Star Wars signing. Yep, that's the one. Nice little Wallace and Gromit homage there that I didn't catch when I saw the piece. Guess I better start adding the sketchbooks to my collection as well.Gaffey wrote:Thanks for sharing the pics.

Re: 2015 Convention Schedule
Oh man, among the legion of SW #1 variant covers solicited, somehow I didn't know about Stan's variant cover. It looks great, thanks for the pics, so I'm going to have to track down a copy online now.
