Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga
One of the things I love about geek culture is the amount and quality of information people collect. I will probably never try to collect the DHE or Preview catalogs. But if I ever wanted to, I could because of you fine people here. Love this board. Thanks!

I wish that back when those Dark Horse Extra were being given out for free at the local comic shop, I had known how many people I would become friends with and who would want copies of them as well 15 years done the line. I should have grabbed a bunch of them....

While digging around the Dojo, I found a link to an 'animated' version of "A Lesson in Courtesy" on the Dark Horse website, and after more digging on DH I also found "Tsuru"
A Lesson in Courtesy = http://www.darkhorse.com/Features/Anima ... part_num=1

Yes! I got my copy today, #832 of 1500, beautiful edition, and Amazon did much better with this copy than they did with my copy of Saga #1, no corner damage, the packaging box was fine, even the plastic surrounding the book was perfect.

Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga

Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! My local comic shop didn't get Saga 2! I'll have to check the other comic shop in the area, or get it off Amazon. I may be overreacting a tiny bit.
One question: Is it as good as the first one? 'Cause the first one was awesome!

Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga
Just got back from my local comic book shop with my copy of Saga 2 - number 203
Hopefully you don't have any trouble finding a copy. Are you getting the HC or TPB? More questions... did you ask your local comic shop to order it, or were you simply counting on them to get it? I always make sure my shop puts my name down for certain books, although I've been going there long enough now that they know to do it anyways. So always ask and reserve your books.

Do you really need to ask? After-all, it's Usagi Yojimbo!Usagi-Yojimbo wrote: One question: Is it as good as the first one? 'Cause the first one was awesome!

Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga
I try to avoid special ordering Usagi because a) The store I go to most isn't very reliable for special orders and b) I go to two comic shops, and they are the only ones in the area, so I'm afraid they will BOTH pull it for me and I really don't want that... I have pulls at both because I am afraid not-as-reliable-comic-shop will stop getting it.
I'm trying to get the TPB. Although...now that I check, the hardcover is only $13 more on Amazon so there is a decent chance I'll get that instead!
I really should tell one of my shops I want the volumes, too... Whenever I go to the shops I always instantly forget what I was going to tell the owners because I'm busy getting new comics. For example, today I was going to put a pull on Groo (because its awesome) and I completely forgot!

Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga
The local comic shop sent out an email Tuesday stating that Diamond Dist. messed up and sent one of the boxes meant for the store to some other store out on the East Coast. The box include, among a bunch of other things, my Groo: Friends and Foes #3 and my Usagi Yojimbo Saga #2 ltd ed. hardcover.
It is supposedly being re-delivered and hopefully arriving tomorrow.

I see... Hopefully it all gets squared away & you'll be able to get all the books you're after.Usagi-Yojimbo wrote:I try to avoid special ordering Usagi because a) The store I go to most isn't very reliable for special orders and b) I go to two comic shops, and they are the only ones in the area, so I'm afraid they will BOTH pull it for me and I really don't want that... I guess I'm fortunate in regards to the shop I frequent. For example, yesterday I placed an order with an employee there (besides the owner, there is a manager & two employees). I ordered all of the Dark Horse "Lone Wolf & Cub" and "Samurai Executioner" Omnibus volumes. Later that night I received a call from the manager making sure the employee got my order correct.... LOL. Good customer service is hard to find, but it is out there!

Re: The Usagi Yojimbo Saga
Yeah, the place I now get almost all my comics from isn't perfect, but they have terrific customer service. If a comic comes in damaged, they'll source a replacement for me instead. They will priority allocate all the incentive variants to me because of my pull lists. All comics are sent pre bagged and boarded. And after the SNAFU with Saga #1, I'm first in the list for all the future Saga hardcovers

With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...
