Trivia for the week of May 11th.....

Post by Steve Hubbell »

I guess it is back to me to post a trivia question for this week.....

I think we will go with an easy one this time, with the trick being in the timing.

The 4th correct PM message I receive listing ALL of the languages which Usagi Yojimbo has been translated into wins the bragging rights (and maybe a surprise prize).

Bonus points if you also mention what languages are only a book behind the English releases.

:)

An original Jon Murakami book mark! That is a great surprise prize.

I believe the foreign publisher in the Bonus Question even asked to publish the UY collections in their country before the US publisher (Dark Horse) published it in the states. Their request was declined.

I don't know the answer off the top of my head, but I'm sure it's somewhere on the DojoBoard.

The clock is ticking on this contest and I have yet to receive ANY correct answers.

I was all prime and set to announce a winner the first day.... ;)

It is all right to post more than one attempt, but please wait one hour in between those attempts.

The contest was to list ALL of the languages which Usagi Yojimbo has been translated into :D

And I jJust realized something that does need clarifying....

It should say "listing ALL of the languages which Usagi Yojimbo has been "officially" translated into"

Since Usagi was originally published in English that can't be an answer, right? :?

That's what I was thinking as well.

I could only find 11 languages, besides English, out there. I thought that there was supposed to be 12 but I cannot for the life of me, and looking all over the web, find the 12th non-English language!!! :?

I came up with 14, but I didn't hear back from Steve so I'm assuming they were incorrect.

One of your languages was included in a list by Stan Sakai and I have been trying to confirm (unsuccessfully) that any of the Usagi stories were actually translated into it. I do know that it was one of the languages that Groo was translated into.
