Best lettering Stan Sakai

Post by Maka »

Dear UYDers,

In case you missed it, Stan won the first award last night. Best Lettering: Stan Sakai, Usagi Yojimbo: Senso, Usagi Yojimbo Color Special: The Artist (Dark Horse)

- See more at: http://www.comic-con.org/awards/eisner- ... NHJWy.dpuf

That make five, one for each of his five human fingers. :).

Congratulations again, Stan! We are very happy you were once again recognized for your outstanding skills.
Peace, maka

Thank you, Maka. I honestly did not expect to win. Lettering was the first award given out that night. By the time I went up to receive the award, give a short stumbling "thank you", have my photo taken, did a short interview, and returned to my seat, the waiters had taken my plate away.

Sorry to hear you lost out on your plate. The folks at your table should have told the waiters you were coming back. Do the nominated have to pay for their meals? Peace, maka

Congratulations on another win!

And did you at least get a chance to take a photo of your Eisner meal before it was gone?

Nominees are fed for free, but Dark Horse buys a couple of tables so I have been fed even when I was not nominated.

No, I did not photograph my food. We had pot roast and spicy catfish with jalapeño rice pilaf and the usual accompaniments.

Congratulations Stan!

Too bad about the missed meal - I'm sure someone else at the table didn't let it go to waste.
