Might as well have been. I remember the ending of the episode being real cheap, n. Not in the sense of budget, though in truth the entire show was it looks like. Anti-climactic perhapse is the better choice of word for this episode. (no supprise really that it was)

One thing that always seemed a little odd, why were they trying to cover up the existence of martians in the series when the entire world was being invaded on a global scale? I wonder if that was ever explained.

Accually that reminds me, on a side note, there was a Superman Elseworlds, sort of a crossover with War of The Worlds....well that's exactly what it was.

Wasn't that good though.

I quote from Gen. Manley Powers, Commander of Supreme Headquaters Anti Martian Services:
"If the general public discovers the truth about the on-going Martian invasion, not only would there be wide-spread panic but our pathetic effects budget will quickly make us an international laughing stock."
"...[H]uman beings are given free will in order to choose between insanity on the one hand and lunacy on the other..."

Yes, two martian ships with short lived lives are more than enough for the entire series. Osmosis will be much more interesting than heat rays blowing stuff up.

I have to wonder, were the producers promices a bigger budget, and then later on sorely let down.
