What Usagi characters would you like to see meet each other?
Which Usagi characters that have never met would you like to see meet? I recently re-read The Thief and the Kunoichi, and I really enjoyed the dialogue and interaction between Chizu and Kitsune. Here are a few more ideas that I think would be interesting:
Gen and Jotaro. Gen's grumpy cynicism and Jotaro's cheerful optimism would make for quite a story, and probably some funny moments. Does Gen know that Usagi is Jotaro's father? I can't remember Usagi ever telling him.
Kitsune and Sasuke. They sort of met in Traitors of the Earth, but they never had the chance to talk. I think it would be interesting to see Kitsune try to steal Sasuke's coin purse, given his seemingly psychic knowledge of others' actions.
Gen and Inspector Ishida. I think their personalities would have an interesting contrast.
Jei and Inspector Ishida. Ishida could be investigating strange murders made by a spear wielding killer... but little does he know that the killer is the Blade of the Gods himself!
I'd also like to see Stray Dog return and meet some other regular characters. Stray Dog meeting Kitsune or Inspector Ishida would be fun.

Sasuke and Jei. 'nuff said. I dunno who would win, but it would probably be the most heavy metal album cover-worthy thing the series has yet seen.
Tomoe and Chizu. One-on-one I think they'd actually get along surprisingly well. With Usagi in the room, though, it would get awkward. Rapidly. Dangerously.

I still can't believe Sasuke hasn't met Jei yet.
The Lord of Owls should meet either one of them.

Within ithe whole Usagi universe? With characters that are "potentially" dead (as to avoid spoilers) this is what I'd like to see:
Inazuma and Chizu matchup. Both incredibly skilled and strong women. Throw Usagi in the middle for very interesting dynamics. Interesting, because Inazuma never overtly showed her emotional interest in Usagi, but I'm sure there was a sort of "spark" built on mutual respect. However, stick in a feisty woman like Chizu, who is a bit more straightforward, would make it VERY interesting.
Chizu and Jei. Or...evil Chizu! Wouldn't that be badass? Even seeing how they would combat each other would be interesting. Jei seems to have a problem with being taken by surprise as skilled as he is. Thus, fighting a Ninja with hidden weapons and long distance would be interesting. Especially since he is used to having the long distance advantage. Terrain wise, Chizu would have a huge advantage in a forest where she could hide her presence and escape easily if the situation turns dangerous.
Chizu and Shingen. A backstory one up would be incredible. Considering how Usagi compared Chizu to Shingen and alluded to her being more "wily" as I interpret it, talented/skilled, than him, it would be funny to see a sort of potential rivalry between them. Especially because Chizu by nature is strong willed. Again, she may have had great respect for her brother so it would be quite an intriguing dynamic.
Okay, I'm noticing that I have a bias for Chizu.
Let's see how about Jotaro and Ino? That would be neat, because Ino is a bit of a curmudgeon, but has a soft spot for kids. Jotaro is charismatic/likeable but also the son of Ino's mortal enemy. Additionally, Ino, with his keen senses could probably "smell" how Jotaro is similar to Usagi. It would make for an interesting dynamic, if Usagi met Ino again, with Ino knowing what he would.
Lord Hikiji and Katsuichi sensei. This would be interesting considering that he performed in front of him before (in a duel). Being just, Katsuichi by nature would be put off by Hikiji, who I think by power hungry nature would want to recruit him. Then again, he is cunning, and may understand that Katsuichi would never join him. But, a little story after the Koji/Katsuichi duel would be interesting to see the dialogue between the Dark Lord and Usagi's Sensei. How would Katsuichi, in his badass way, turn down the Dark Lord?
This is fun!

These are very cool ideas, especially the Chizu vs. Jei in the forest idea. I'd also like to see the Katsuichi and Hikiji scenario. Did Katsuichi teach Hikiji? That would explain the mysterious "other students" Katsuichi had in the past, and it would also explain Hikiji's apparent skill with the sword.dhfujii wrote:Within ithe whole Usagi universe? This is fun!
How would Ino react if he were to meet Usagi or Jotaro? He knows that Usagi helped save him in "The last Ino story", but he might still harbor some anger.
How about Inazuma vs Katsuichi? A fight between the two who are quite possibly the best fighters in the series. This probably doesn't work because of the continuity of the series, but it would be fun.

Too bad Ino got the best exit in comic book history. It would be a shame to ever bring him out of retirement, even for an idea this good.

OMG I NEVER thought about Hikiji being another student of Katsuichi!!! OMG!!!That would explain so much and provide a LOT of backstory and tons of plot twists character development. Dudeeee that's such a good idea!!!These are very cool ideas, especially the Chizu vs. Jei in the forest idea. I'd also like to see the Katsuichi and Hikiji scenario. Did Katsuichi teach Hikiji? Actually, I did not come up with the idea myself. I'm certain I read it on an older Dojo thread, but I can't remember where. I wish I had good ideas like that!dhfujii wrote:OMG I NEVER thought about Hikiji being another student of Katsuichi!!! Haha, well thank you for your honesty; you really are a true reader of Usagi! Nonetheless, thanks for bringing it up, I had no clue!

Three-way faceoff between the Koroshi, the Neko ninja, and the Komori ninja, anyone?
Re: What Usagi characters would you like to see meet each ot
When they then get attacked by a horde of Yokai and have to fight together in order to survive! Then, Usagi happens along, and of course, gets caught up in it. Haha. Yeah, a face off of that magnitude would be pretty amazing.Chopalong Slashity wrote:Three-way faceoff between the Koroshi, the Neko ninja, and the Komori ninja, anyone?

Tomoe and Mariko. So they can talk about Usagi behind his back. Then he walks in. They stop chatting, and look at him. Whereupon he feels awkward and a little frightened.

I wrote that a few years ago here on the dojo.funny that this came up again as I was brought to that idea while re-reading samurai many years ago and since then have lost connection to where this even came from and if I wasn't perhaps way off missregarding something completely....thank you for echoing that idea, lobster johnson! you brought back that germ of a possibillity and it is quite fun to think about things like that from time to time.
