The Gallery of Patman

Post by usagifanpatman »

Hello, all! I'm a new(ish) member. I was on once before, but in the time since I've lost my old user info. So here I am again, and can't wait to see what everyone else is posting. I met Stan for the first time yesterday in London and was very pleased with the art piece he did for me. It features Usagi and Jotaro, which he pencilled while I was browsing his portfolio and speaking to him and Julie. It was a wonderful conversation, during which I revealed that my three year old daughter is a fan of Usagi (or Oosageeee to her) and Jotaro (who she calls Baby Oosageee), though she mostly knows Usagi from old ninja turtles episodes. The ninja turtles happen to be her current favorite thing.

After becoming slightly daunted by trying to select just one piece of original artwork from Stan's amazing portfolio at his first UK convention, I was delighted when Stan showed me what he'd been pencilling, pointing out that he'd added a ninja turtle mask to Jotaro for my daughter. Needless to say, the choice was made. It's been framed and will soon be hanging up on the wall.

I will PM a photo of the piece to an admin for assistance with posting. Can't wait for you all to see it!

Thanks, guys! And yes, Stan has shared it on his Facebook page. I just hung it on the wall next to a piece my friend/comic co-creator did for me of Usagi for my birthday back in January. The wall started as being a Martial Arts and samurai fiction/philosophy/graphic novel showcase, but it's very quickly becoming partially a monument to Usagi.
