Weekly Trivia Contest April 4 - 10th
Dear UYDers,
Dark Horse (hint) ran a contest to find where Stan hid Todd's (our Shogun) name in an issue of Usagi Yojimbo.
Question: What words were actually written?
Bonus question: What was the issue #, page # and panel.
You only have to get the question #1 correct to be enter into this contest. So technically, you don't have to own the individual issue to find the hidden word(s).
Good luck.
Please PM me the answer. We will do the randomize selection if there is more than one correct answer.
Peace, maka

Good question. I've been around here forever and I don't remember that contest ever being discussed.

I recall Stan mentioning the contest a long time ago, but not actually when the contest was, or (sadly) what the answer was heh...

There is nothing random about the winner in this contest. Eltanin is the one dojo member to submit and get the answer correct. Here was his answer:
"The text is: "Hi Todd"
In the spider-web in panel 6 (final panel) of page 3 of the story "Kumo" issue #37 (v3).
Best,
Guillaume"
The original contest offered 100 issues of Usagi Yojimbo. When three winners were all post dated on the same day, Stan have all three winners the 100 comics each. Another example of what a nice guy Stan is.
Eltanin, your turn to write a trivia question. Congrats again on knowing the correct answer!
Peace, maka

Bravo Eltanin. Where did you find the answer?
This was the only thing I could find remotely related to Maka's question.

Great question. I wasn't aware of the answer either. The original prize of 100 issues of Usagi was a pretty cool prize as well!

To be honest, I'm surprised to be the only one to have found the answer. I actually didn't need to look for it, as I already knew what the answer was. I even had a pretty clear picture in my head of what the panel with the spider-web looked like, and in which story I could find it: the one with a forest full of spiders. From there, I merely needed to find the story title in order to get the issue, page and panel number.Gaffey wrote:Bravo Eltanin. Where did you find the answer?
Funny thing is, I was sure I knew of this contest because of a discussion here (I even thought it was maybe a recycled trivia question from a few months ago

Thanks for the question, Maka!
I'll try to post a new trivia question by tomorrow.

Here was the panel, with the spider-web/text in the top right corner:
