Weekly (sort of) Trivia Challenge June 14th - 26th

Post by Mayhem »

Must admit, in between a very busy time at work this week so far, and a few other bits and pieces (AND the Euro football heh), I forgot about the contest. Well, no prizes currently unless I find something to whip up.

So something a bit fun for this week. What's the oldest thing you can find online that Stan has contributed to in some way? I already know one very old item already that may not be beaten, but let's see how well you can do! Scavenger hunt winner gets a metaphorical cookie heh...

Does something that has been listed for sale on ebay count as being "on-line" for this question?

As long as you weren't thinking Chronicle Three #3 (1973).

Is there some sort of bot going through these threads? This one already has hundreds of views. That never happens.

Now that you mentioned it, other 'new' threads have even higher counts.... :?

I noticed that as well. Way more views than normal for various new threads. :|

I just deactivated three different bots / spiders that have visited in the past couple days.

Baidu [Spider] - showed up yesterday, from China apparently and probably most responsible for the views.
Alexa [Bot] - from Amazon and showed up yesterday as well
MSNbot Media - showed up on the 12th.

OK, I know it isn't Poor Richard's Adzine since that came out in 1974....

There is the Fantasticomix which came out in June of 1973, nah, has to be something older....

How about Chronicles #2, no, that came out after Chronicles #1.....

Well, Chronicles #1 and #2 both came out in 1972, and they were published quarterly, and #3 came out in 1973, that would make #1 Summer, and #2 Fall, and #3 Spring?

Then we have Escape Comics which came out in Fall 1972....

Radion 6 (#6?) came out in 1977, so that is way out of the question.....

Dark Fantasy is even later than that with a release date of 1978.....

Fantasae #1 came out in 1975 according to information posted on the old Dojo forum by Todd Shogun (I couldn't find a date in it myself)

I would say, if I were to make a wild guess, that it is Chronicles #1.....

Question: Are metaphorical cookies as good as those new cookies at Arby's?

I just ate one of those and it was delicious!

Yes, although Gaffey mentioned Chronicle #3 and that is on eBay currently. If you can find a mention or an image of it anywhere on the internet, it counts!

Do you have a copy of Chronicle #1 then Steve? I was assuming that as a possible "best" answer, but I didn't know 100% if Stan contributed to it.

So a mention of it here on the Dojo Forum counts as "on-line"?

I got so busy at work this week again, I forgot to come back to it

I'll alter the title and let things run till tomorrow anyhow, but I doubt we'll get a better answer...

Well, Steve had the best answer (@ 1972) so I guess he's the winner!
