I don't know the names of any pieces, but frankly, a lot of koto and sakuhachi during the peaceful bits, and a ton o' taiko for the exciting bits. Japanese music of a traditional sort. Movies don't NEED to have tie-ins to the top 20 charts.

I was also thinking that the song "Ken-Ke Lai", by Hetane, would fit into a dynamic scene, but 10 points for anyone out there who heard about that band. 
Just a quick thought, Sepultura's "Kamaitachi", "Tribus" and "T3rcermillenium" songs from the Against album would fit into battle scenes- but it's just my opinion.
