He just has the hardcover under a separate entry, because this one is just for the softcover releases.maichan wrote:Thanks Mayhem! Finally we get to see the Sergio cover. Rich is missing one cover though, the Stan Sakai HC edition. So if correct, I guess that actually makes for 12 books in total, with 11 cover variations? 10 soft covers and 2 HCs, but one HC has the same cover as a SC

Rich informed me that while the Stan website exclusive softcover was included with IDW solicits, the hardcover was not. Does this mean that you are producing this yourself Stan, and what the 250 print run was referring to? Or has IDW just overlooked it because you can't order it through Diamond, or because it's the same art as the softcover?

My HC will only be available through me--at conventions/signings, through my website, from selected stores I may do a trade with--and will not be going through Diamond. It should be the same for the softcover as well. Was it solicited through Diamond?Mayhem wrote:Rich informed me that while the Stan website exclusive softcover was included with IDW solicits, the hardcover was not. My HC exclusive will not be out in time for San Diego.

Re: WonderCon - Plus Usagi/TMNT crossover!
Rich received an official cover image for your softcover issue from IDW, along with all the other variants (which is how we now know there's going to be one available through the San Diego Art Gallery), but there was no official hardcover image sent to him for your version Stan, only the regular IDW hardcover. My suspicion was because it's going to be out after the softcover, especially given the fact that the regular hardcover has now been apparently moved back to August. So it may be forthcoming, just not yet.Stan Sakai wrote:My HC will only be available through me--at conventions/signings, through my website, from selected stores I may do a trade with--and will not be going through Diamond. On that note, I believe there was one question awaiting clarification, and that was the mention of 250 copies earlier regarding your softcover, the hardcover, or both?

Sorry if I missed this info... but the regular HC edition will include all the variant covers?
I'm hoping that it does!

It will, with the exception of the San Diego Comic Art Gallery variant which is a b/w version of the Comics&Ponies/Kevin Eastman Fan Club variant.

I will have to check with Daniel who arranged this, but there will be 250 softcovers and 150 HCs.Mayhem wrote:

Okay, there was lot of cleaning up to do on the wiki article, but I think I have it under control now. The info on these has been flowing fast and furious and I've been trying to keep up with all the details. All I know is that I must be crazy for deciding to try to get all of the cover variants.

If anyone deserves to get all the cover variants, I think you stand the best chance! Good luck!

I'll be aiming for all of them as well... really, the only one that's going to be left to a bit of chance is the Diamond lunch variant.

Re: WonderCon - Plus Usagi/TMNT crossover!
I'm not sure if I missed this detail somewhere, but do we know if the content of the Sakai exclusive hardcover and regular hardcover be the same? Is it only the cover image that varies?
And in the promotional imagery I have seen, it would appear that the image on the back cover of the regular edition is similar to the front cover (without the background colour) of the Sakai exclusive, which begs the question... what does the back cover of the Sakai exclusive look like?

The only difference is the front cover. The back cover of the Sakai variant will be the same as on the other comic books (I think an ad). Only the HC has a different back cover.Otter wrote:I'm not sure if I missed this detail somewhere, but do we know if the content of the Sakai exclusive hardcover and regular hardcover be the same? And, of course, the Sakai Signature Variant will all be signed.
