I'm waiting for the Usagi/TMNT hardcover to come out so I don't have to pay s/h twice. It's amazing how cheap I can be sometimes.Casey Burns wrote:FYI, the new sketchbook is also now in Stan's store. I ordered one earlier today.

Re: SDCC Shopping List
I got PMs out to everybody I was shopping for, I believe. In case I forgot to explain the pricing breakdown, here's a quick recap:
Some items were taxed, others weren't. Some things I bought from a particular vendor were not taxed if I paid cash, but once I ran out of cash it was taxed on the card purchases. So if you see that I bought something and it came out at list price, but then another item from the same vendor was slightly over list, it's because I had to put some on my card. Apparently $2200 cash wasn't quite enough to get me through all the purchases.
Whichever way you cut it, you only pay what I paid for it.
The Usagi figure was a complete failure on Nickelodeon's part to anticipate demand and then regulate purchasing. At an average of only 70 figures available each day, that wasn't nearly enough. The first couple days, I believe, there was a limit of 2 per person (so, in theory, only 35 people could buy them all), before being revised down to 1 per person. They also sold to exhibitors and vendors the first couple days, which is an unfair advantage since they are on the floor before the doors even open. That said, even once these limits were in place, you still had to be inside the convention hall before it opened to the public to get one, and even that was no guarantee. It was very frustrating to see people with 3 or 4 Usagi figures walking around, as there were so many fans that wanted just a single one but couldn't get them. I was fortunate to get one for myself (with a little assist from a friend), but not lucky enough to get more for the forum. At least the Sakai exclusive figure coming out later this year will be easier to get.

There wasn't anything I wanted from SDCC this year, but I do want to say that it's very cool that Kyle, Grusagi, and Spam Musubi helped so many Dojo members get what they wanted. I doff my hat to you guys!

Also, I seemed to have ended up with an extra copy of the TMNT/Usagi Fried Pie variant (signed) if anybody is wishing they had asked for that.

Re: SDCC Shopping List
Dear Kyle, Spam, & Groosagi, I got the comics, sketchbook and print! Thanks so much. So the only crossover comic I probably will not be able to get my hands on is the Diamond Retailer Lunch cover. I feel pretty good about that. Thanks so much for helping me with my collection. The sketchbook #14 is AWESOME! Great work on that Stan/Julie/Daniel.
Peace, maka

There's plenty on eBay, depends how much you want to spend.Maka wrote:So the only crossover comic I probably will not be able to get my hands on is the Diamond Retailer Lunch cover.
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...
Re: SDCC Shopping List
Jabba, you said Sergio had completely sold out of these by the time you got back to his table. Did you mean he didn't have any left at the convention or he didn't have any at all? I don't want to pay 4 times the original price, but this rarely shows up on eBay.Gaffey wrote:I asked about the print back in December of '16. At the time, I was wondering if he brought those to California conventions along with any Rufferto art? Now I know and knowing is half the battle!

Re: SDCC Shopping List
When I talked to his booth assistant (I forget his name, but he's a longtime Groo forum member that helps Sergio out at shows), he told me that these were the last of the prints and that Sergio didn't have any more of them. Whether or not that statement was accurate, I don't know.Gaffey wrote:Jabba, you said Sergio had completely sold out of these by the time you got back to his table. Thanks. I have a feeling this is the only time I'm going to be able to get one. But $200!
Do you know if all of them were numbered? I don't recall the prints that were purchased at that massive signing being numbered.

HA! I just remembered to look on eBay and it's gone. Guess I didn't want it that bad.
