Agreed that while episode one was awesome, the second and third were absolutely amazing. This should have been a 90 minute block somewhere in their schedule.
The reason being that it is one complete story line meant to be viewed in one sitting. It isn't like most of the traditional episodes which were self contained one shots. The original pilot episode ended up being a three part event just like this story. It was released as one 90 minute episode on a DVD later which made it more enjoyable.
The birth of evil episode that won all the awards was a two part piece that was shown all at once as well.
I know that committing 90 minutes to something is a big deal but from 10pm-11:30pm at night seems like a safe place to try that out.
The final episode aired last night.
Epic, perfect and amazing
Easily one of the greatest animated shows of all time.
Genndy Tartakovsky knows how to end a show correctly...brilliant.
#SamuraiJack was trending top five last night and even still this morning. Check it out if you haven't had a chance. The art in the show is amazing and this season stepped it up to a whole new level. As an Usagi fan I feel like this is a must for everyone here at the dojo. A tea ceremony scene in one episode this season and other similar Usagi like story elements that I don't dare spoil.
Would still love to see Genndy contribute a HC intro for an upcoming Usagi collection.
I'm rewatching the original episodes before we watch the new season so my girlfriend knows whats going on. Shes loving it of course. Have only 5 left, I forgot how amazing the show is.
They're remastering the original four seasons of Jack for HD to make a big Blu-Ray box set (along with the new Season 5, of course) later this year. I'm pretty amazed: CN doesn't usually show it's shows this much love in the home video department.
