DojoBoard UsagiYojimbo.com site access problems
Hey everyone,
I've noticed intermittent access problems to the site and also the DojoBoard forum. I have contacted Daniel to see what can be done.
I was only able to access the DojoBoard using the link provided in the DojoBoard Annex site. I think it might be a PHPBB version issue but not entirely sure.
Anyone else having the same issues right now?
Todd

Okay I think I fixed it. Can everyone access the DojoBoard from UsagiYojimbo.com and see if you still get that Access Denied error?

Re: DojoBoard UsagiYojimbo.com site access problems
Awesome. So this is what happened. Back in November, someone or something changed the index.php file permissions so that the file could not be 'executed'. That's the phpBB equivalent of changing the index.html permissions on a standard webpage. Hence why we were getting the "Access Denied" error. I changed it back. Thing is, someone did find a workaround and posted it on the DojoBoard Annex...which tells me that the Board security isn't all that! Oh well, at least we can use it again. Sorry for the technical difficulties. And looks like it's been happening for a few months now.

Re: DojoBoard UsagiYojimbo.com site access problems
The "workaround" was just direct linking to one of the other sub-forum indexes, presumably? The problem only affected the main index for the forum, nothing else. Having said that, something happened this morning, because I couldn't reply to your initial post due to constant php errors either, until now that the fix is in place.Todd Shogun wrote:Thing is, someone did find a workaround and posted it on the DojoBoard Annex...which tells me that the Board security isn't all that!
As Steve notes, the administration panel is still off limits ( /adm/index.php ) though... probably needs the same alteration.
With a breeze comes a storm, but then you'll all be washed away...

I have probably missed the discussion somewhere but I still can't follow a link from the DojoBoard for example the "Communities" link gives me " Access Denied". Is there a secret to get these to work? Thanks for the help and sorry if this is repetitive

Good point Mayhem. The permissions on the other index.php files were also changed but not the viewtopic.php file.Mayhem wrote: The "workaround" was just direct linking to one of the other sub-forum indexes, presumably? I don't see it anymore either and I looked everywhere yesterday for it....Working on that now.......Mayhem wrote: As Steve notes, the administration panel is still off limits ( /adm/index.php ) though... probably needs the same alteration.

Try to clear your cache or access form a computer or other device you haven't accessed it from before...johnsonk513 wrote:I have probably missed the discussion somewhere but I still can't follow a link from the DojoBoard for example the "Communities" link gives me " Access Denied". Even logged in as Admin I can't see the Admin Control Panel...I even tried accessing it directly and I get a 404 error.
