Usagi Trivia for April 23 - 30

Post by Steve Hubbell »

OK, This might be a tough one. Then again, I thought the last one should have been easy, so I might be wrong.

As far as I know, Stan Sakai has only sold one page of original Usagi Yojimbo artwork that was actually published in an issue of Usagi Yojimbo as part of a story.

1: What page from which story was sold?
2: Who was the page sold to?
3: How much was the page sold for?

One guess per question, each correct answer counts as an entry in the drawing for the winner. Please PM me your answers. Some type of random number generator will be used to select the winner......

I have a feeling a lot of members have gone to Facebook. I thought my question was easy as well and after you sent your answer in my PM box was idle.

Yeah, I haven't seen moderately recent trivia participants Buck Rogers or Rustyblade around lately, just to name a couple that immediately spring to mind. They're are plenty other members I haven't seen much of, but they didn't really ever participate in the trivia anyway.

I have received two correct responses so far, so apparently this was easier than I was expecting..... :D

I am sure that "Access Denied" problem earlier this year did not help encourage people to visit the forum, even though the "work-around" was not very difficult. Need to start posting some links to the forum on the Dojo Facebook page to try and encourage people to visit the forum again.

I know the answer to #1, think I recall the answer to #2 but genuinely don't know the answer to #3. Google Fu fails too, might have to wait for that one..>!

1. Page 21 from Issue 93 Chanoyu
2. Estee
3. The price was an offer Stan could not refuse. Estee claims that even at that price he robbed sensei

I know Todd has page 22 from Issue 88 Part 6 of The Treasure of the Mother of Mountains but I don't believe that was purchased. I think it was a gift.

Maka wrote:Dear Steve,

My answers are in bold/underline. I guess dojo trivia is easier for me than searching through books for me. It helps that I was amazed at the price estee ($1000, that's so MUCH!) was willing to pay. I thought it was so cool of Stan to sell it. I love this dojo! Peace, maka

1: What page from which story was sold? Page 21, issue 93
2: Who was the page sold to? estee
3: How much was the page sold for?$1,000 (I assume)

I'll give you a $1000 for the original art of page 21 in issue 93.

Or name your price.

Please. I am in earnest.

You're really serious? As you know, I don't sell interior story pages, but for this, I'll make an exception.

PM or e-mail me, and we'll discuss it.
Trevis Woods: 1 - 3
Gaffey: 4 - 6
Randy Clute: 7 - 9
Maka: 10 - 12

Somehow my searching failed to find that thread, but I was correct with the page and buyer... I've just been busy last few days and completely forgot to PM  congrats Gaffey!
