Please? This could work really really well. I think the best animators for it would have to be the company of Miyazaki, the director that did
Howl's Moving Castle
Spirited Away
Princess Mononoke
Kiki's Delivery Service
My Neighbor Totoro
Castle in the Sky
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds
I think his style along with the story of Usagi would fit so well. Pleae Sakai-San, I want to see Usagi animated beyond TMNT.
Also, and I doubt anyone has heard of this, but Samurai Champloo is an anime that is stylistically similar to Usagi.

The Kodama Tree spirits are a great character from Princess Mononoke. Miyazaki could really do Usagi some justice. It would be great to see.

I dunno-- pig (Porco Rosso), tanuki and foxes (Ponpoko), cats (The Cat Returns, Kiki), pandas (Panda Go Panda), dogs (Sherlock Hound) and horrifying starveling children (Grave of the Fireflies)... you'd think studio ghibli could slide in a Chanbara Rabbit.
