Many of you know that Stan let me make a short documentary for the Temecula Valley Museum exhibit. Well, I've now put it online for anybody who didn't get to see it.
I just want to thank Stan for letting me make this and for being generous with his time. I know the scheduling wasn't the most convenient for him, between him being in Hawaii for family reasons right before we shot and then getting ready for SDCC the week after, but he was very accommodating.
Enjoy!

Thank you Kyle. I enjoyed it tremendously!
Very touching video, very well done.
I enjoyed hearing about Stan talk about his younger days in Hawaii, growing up in Kapahulu etc..
He even has photos from when he played baseball at Paki park with his brother.
I grew up in the same area (20 years after Stan) so I could releate to the schools & places he was talking about.
Thank you again Kyle.. absolutely loved the video!

Great job Kyle. This is something similar to what I had planned to do after I shot the short film but I never got to it. Glad you were able to get it done. I loved it.

I loved this film too. Here's what I wrote on facebook today:
My buddy, Kyle Wright, produced, directed, and edited this mini-documentary of my favorite cartoonist, Stan Sakai. Kyle showed me some screenshots of the work in progress last year and I was so excited. It finally is available to the public. Please take the time to watch it. It does a great overview of Stan's career, peppered with little personal stories of Stan's life that are delightful and touching.
Great job, Kyle! I know this was a big investment for you. You have created something that the Usagi Yojimbo Dojo/Stan Sakai fans will treasure and share with others. Your team did a great job and this is my favorite film of Stan.
Easter Egg: Adriel Serna (aka Dojo member: Grusagi) gets a screen credit because he gave Kyle the comics that are in this film.
---
Thanks again, Kyle! I hope making this film opens doors to more opportunities with your career!
Peace, maka

It really was excellent. Kyle should probably do this stuff for a living or something. Showed my wife and she found it very interesting as well. Another great way for others to see why we love Usagi so much.
I patiently await the last two parts of this epic trilogy.
Also looking forward to the Blu ray with director commentary and gag reel.

I'm a week late, but just watched this, and it's fantastic. Really nicely done, Kyle.
Made me love everything about Stan even more.
