35th Anniversary Mail Order List
Several people have expressed interest but have not replied to PM messages concerning postage costs.
Now that the books and the cardboard comic mailers are in, it is time to start getting them into the mail.
I really apologize for not responding (yet) to all the messages requesting copies either mailed out or arranged for pick-up directly from Stan Sakai.
First priority right now is getting enough copies for Stan packaged and mailed out so that he has them in time for SDCC.
Here are the estimates for mailing single copies with enough packaging to make it as difficult as possible for the post office to mess them up.
Priority mail for the cardboard comic mailers is $8.60 each.
[EDIT] Turns out the priority mail for the cardboard comic mailers actually varies a little bit based upon the destination (between $7.35 and $9.30), so at $10 some people pay a bit more for postage and others pay a bit more towards the cost of the packaging. I apologize for this, originally thought the cardboard comic mailers were going to fit inside the flat rate priority envelopes. That would have been much more convenient.
The cardboard comic mailers cost approximately $1.30 each (bulk purchase of 50)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00S5 ... UTF8&psc=1
Throw in a comic bag and packing tape it rounds up to $10.00 for shipping in the USA.
Unfortunately, International delivery will cost a bit more.

Re: 35th Anniversary Mail Order List
As I browsed through all the ones marked as SDCC pickups (just to compare my list of who I'm picking up for), I noticed you have Chopalong listed as SDCC pickup. Is that correct?
Since Chapalong is also one of the people getting the AOD UY #1 cover from you, that's the perfect time to combine shipping on those two (I assume you'll have the AOD cover in the next week or so).Chopalong Slashity wrote:I'd also like a copy by mail if they're still available.

Nice catch! That SDCC pickup was supposed to be added to ChicagoGuy. My mouse is having problems and highlighting and dragging text is not always efficient.jabba359 wrote:As I browsed through all the ones marked as SDCC pickups (just to compare my list of who I'm picking up for), I noticed you have Chopalong listed as SDCC pickup. I need to check that AOD list, remind myself who all is on it.....

Re: 35th Anniversary Mail Order List
Ay yi yi yi yi! I thought I made it clear I backed down on that because I couldn't settle on JUST one variant cover, so I got the basic non-variant cover from my local comic book shop. Otherwise the temptation to splurge would have been too strong!jabba359 wrote:As I browsed through all the ones marked as SDCC pickups (just to compare my list of who I'm picking up for), I noticed you have Chopalong listed as SDCC pickup. (If I made you get a variant copy for nothing, Steve, I am very sorry!)

Re: 35th Anniversary Mail Order List
Given the list so far Steve, you think ten copies to me would be the best starter? Or maybe more? Not sure. Then I can send to folks in Europe a little more cheaply.

Re: 35th Anniversary Mail Order List
Just following on Mayhem;
How do I go about making my payment?
Are you paying whatever the US-UK cost is yourself, and then I reimburse you say 1/10th (or whatever fair share it ends up being) of the US-UK shipping plus the internal UK shipping?
Or do I send partial payment to Steve for US-UK, and then you for UK internal?
Happy to work either way, just let me know.
P.s., Once I know where I'm at with the shipping, I'll (hopefully!) have enough to put a donation back to Steve for the production costs. I'm just keeping that separate for now.
P.p.s. If there's any previous tributes still lurking with Steve, would you be able to include them too? Obviously, happy to pay a larger share of postage & make a larger donation accordingly. If not, not to worry - just thought I'd try my luck!

Re: 35th Anniversary Mail Order List
Here are a couple links to the USPS web-site with Priority Flat Rate prices for the UK.....
A standard Priority Flat Rate envelope will hold two of the tribute books (just packaged two of them) and, going to the UK costs $35.65
https://postcalc.usps.com/Calculator/Ma ... =20&dvi=50
(wish my local post office carried those padded versions)
As far as boxes, I checked the medium flat rate box which is $71.75 and will hold up to 20 books with no problem.
Just noticed the Priority Large Video Flat Rate priced box at the bottom which is $36.70 ( 9-1/4" x 6-1/4" x 2" )
https://postcalc.usps.com/Calculator/Ma ... =12&dvi=50
I want to get more info on this one, (is it restricted to videos?) and if the local post office has any.
I need to check on other options besides Priority, but I need actual weights to calculate those.

Wow okay, much larger! I’ll have a look to see what the best way to get them to me is. What’s the size and weight of one book for reference?
