I love those Usagi/Groo pins. I should have purchased more of the stickers at HeroesCon.

And so many prints to choose from.

Of course, a while back, on my We Miss You, Tomoe topic, Stan said something that really intrigued me:
Stan Sakai wrote:
estee wrote:I think Stan should do an anthology title. Separate from the core book.

A space where other characters can shine, like Gen, Chizu and even past characters like Inazuma.

Maybe open it up for other creators. :D
It's already been pitched and is on hold until the completion of another, unannounced, project that should appear in 2020.
I myself personally hope that Stan Sakai discusses both of these projects while at the SDCC.

Dark Horse signing schedule is up and Stan's not on it. So maybe no signing card this year?

That is why I am doing two signings at IDW this year. DH never asked, and IDW wanted a second one.

I can't believe how good the SDCC guest list is this year. Don't forget to take your Mondo prints to get signed by Ciro Nieli.

That's a bummer.

Question. When it says there are 25 covers to Usagi #1 is that including the second print? I know of 24 covers before the second print but just want to make sure I am not missing one. Then it will go to 26 covers once the Incredible Con variant is released in September.

(On the topic of multiple covers I generally hate variants and in special occasions think 1 or 2 would suffice. However since they are doing 26 covers they should have gone for 35 - 1 for each year).

Well, now that Dark Horse Comics doesn't have Usagi Yojimbo anymore, I know what they can replace it with: There are a bunch of manga based on the video game series BlazBlue, and in Usagi Yojimbo's stead, I really want Dark Horse to license the BlazBlue manga and translate them for a North American audience. Particularly Chemical Complex.

Even though it wouldn't be promoting anything specific, that image would have been great on a dual Sakai/Aragonés signing card to be given away with a donation or sold at each of their booths.

I wonder if their signatures would fit on the pin card itself?

I think you're correct, with 26 covers after the Incredible Con cover comes out.

1) Regular cover
2) 2nd printing cover
3) Daniel Warren Johnson retailer incentive
4) Walter Simonson retailer incentive
5) Kevin Eastman retailer incentive
6) AOD Collectables
7) Brave New World
8 ) Collector's Paradise/Knowhere Games
9) Collector's Paradise/Knowhere Games virgin
10) Comics & Ponies
11) Comics & Ponies black and white lineart
12) Dogu Chibi
13) Excelsior Collectibles
14) Frankie's Comics
15) HeroesCon
16) HeroesCon black and white
17) IDW SDCC exclusive Sakai/Simonson virgin
18) Incredible Con
19) Jak's
20) Legends Comics and Games Fresno
21) New England Comics
22) Other Realms
23) Signing Tour/SDCC
24) Sketch blank
25) Slab City
26) Vault Collectibles

And I hear that since Legends received all but 90 or so damaged, they sold the 90 undamaged covers (virgin, no titles) and that the reprint to replace the other 410 or so covers won't be a virgin cover, but will have the title on it. So that might be a 27th cover (if you're getting all the variations).

It wouldn't surprise me if the Incredible Con cover has already been printed when all the others were printed, so Stan might have gotten his comp issues already.
