HOWEVER - hidden in the IDW site is the comic con at home edition w SIGNED Sakai bookplate of Bunraku. I actually think this might be a HC version of the book.
And the resellers have not found this one - since it was not advertised nor was it up on the exclusive list...
I did manage to get one of these ordered on Monday.
Later on they were listed as sold out, same as the Peach cover. When I checked them today, there were copies available again.
Unfortunately, due to IDW's need to be secretive I guess, there is no mention of how many copies are available or whether or not it is a hardcover edition or not.

That was weird about Bunraku. It wasn't on the main sales page earlier in the day. I had commented about it with some other Dojo members around 10am PST. But you could get to it through IDW main site (your first link). Later in the day it showed up with all the other books:

I'm really curious as to what the bookplates will be like. There were quite a few books listed with bookplates... so that made me wonder, are they title specific or just generic IDW Comic-Con@home bookplates? I think it's the latter, and thus didn't warrant me buying the same books I already have.
I'm betting it's the TPB. The catalog numbers are the same for both standard and bookplate versions:
Usagi Yojimbo: Bunraku and Other Stories
DIAMOND CODE: DEC190716
ISBN: 978-1-68405-657-6
Usagi Yojimbo: Bunraku and Other Stories W/ Bookplate – Comic-Con@Home
DIAMOND CODE: DEC190716
ISBN: 978-1-68405-657-6
I'm pretty sure it is the trade paperback. I signed a bunch of bookplates for IDW Comic-Con program. This was a couple months ago and I don't remember what the plates looked like. I'm surprised the books are being sold for more than cover price, though.

Stan - thanks for the input. The IDW site is horrible when trying to figure out the specs on books. Since it was slightly higher than issue - I was hoping it might've been a HC - but again difficult to tell since their descriptions are lacking at times. I saw the e-preview actually did list a second ISBN for a signed HC edition (similar to the previous HC limited books) - but I did a lousy job check the ISBN prior to ordering.
I did just order a remarqued Bunraku directly from your web store - so looking forward to that copy as well...now I will have two paperback copies it looks like - while waiting on info for the HC version

Let me fix that for you

Agreed. Even the way books are listed. Why is it so hard to get a full listing of a given title? I mean really, whoever is running their website should try actually using it.

And the price is coming down already.
Coincidentally I was offered a Darrow CGC 9.8 for $250 last week and passed as I think it will continue to come down. The more time that passes the more people will forget about it except us hardcore Usagi fans. Happens with pretty much all (99.999%) variant covers.
Greg Holland, the guy behind the cgcdata website and valiant fans boards actually did a study using data on this showing the rate of decay in prices. To use his terminology after the moneybags get their copies right at the beginning prices start to fall pretty fast.

I don't know how much people are going to care about value if/when they get a second $1200 stimulus check next month. If they want something, they'll buy it. And then they'll be gone!!!
Steve Hubbell wrote:I am currently waiting to see if one of those Peach variant sellers on Ebay will accept the $20 Best Offer I placed for their comic.
I submitted the offer after Ebay sent me an email specifically saying the seller was accepting Best Offers for it.....
Good Luck! When I placed a Best Offer on an item a few weeks ago I was immediately sent a computer generated "Sorry ******, ************ has turned down your offer of US $***.**. Make another offer before the item ends."
*Speaking of stimulus money, I might throw my extra UY Saga hardcover on eBay if someone wants to pay ridiculous money for it. I was saving it for trade bait, but I can't get anyone to trade for it.
