Usagi Yojimbo Saga vol. 1 LE hardcover reprint (2nd edition)
Looks like vol. 1 is getting a hardcover reprinted as a second edition. I wonder if the rest will get 2nd editions as well?

By the way, I love the cover art!

It is nice cover art. Peace, maka

Cool cover! I wonder if LE means signed and numbered? Dark Horse seems to be a well oiled machine while IDW keeps dragging their feet when it comes to the Bunraku hardcover.
*takes a deep breath*
Everything gonna be ok.

Nice cover art. Think this is a first time a HC has been reprinted.
I might pass this time as I already have the first print. I thought we were going to get all the Usagi reprinted in color so this feels a bit like Darkhorse wants one more kick at the can before the IDW reprints come out.

I do like the cover art.... but with the regular SCs & HCs and the Saga HCs, I already have all the stories more than enough times. However I'm still undecided as of right now.
I too am curious if these will be signed and numbered?

Actually, it will be much less-- 600. The reason being that Saga 2-9 + Legends HCs had a print run of 1500 each. Saga 1's print run was 900. I think it's the OCD in me that wants them all to be even.Maka wrote:Hopefully they print more than 900 this time.

There are no plans to do HCs editions of the rest of the Saga New Editions.

Besides the advertised new cover for the New Saga 1 HC will these Saga New Editions be different in any way from the previous version or is this more of just a second printing?Stan Sakai wrote:There are no plans to do HCs editions of the rest of the Saga New Editions.

Story-wise the contents will be the same. Besides the new cover, signature plate and introduction the border color will be dark blue instead of the first edition's black easily distinguishing itself as a second edition.

Thanks for the info Stan.Stan Sakai wrote:Story-wise the contents will be the same. Besides the new cover, signature plate and introduction the border color will be dark blue instead of the first edition's black easily distinguishing itself as a second edition.
I was hoping that these new/2nd editions (or the upcoming Book 9) were going to collect the few stories from the Dark Horse era (and earlier) that are missing from the Saga collections:
Never before collected:
- Mayumi (Usagi Yojimbo Sketchbook #4)
- Refuge (Usagi Yojimbo Sketchbook #9)
- Usagi Yojimbo Meets Godzilla (SDCC Souvenir Book 1999)
- Return to Adachigahara Plain (the original watercolor version from Book 4 and later The Art of Usagi Yojimbo)
- The Guardian (Trilogy Tour 2 and later The Art of Usagi Yojimbo)
- The ad from the back of Command Review and Zell (The Art of Usagi Yojimbo)
- Usagi's Ark (UY Vol. 1 #22)
- Usagi Yojimbo meet Panda Kahn (UY Vol. 1 #34)
- Your section of Nocturnals: Troll Bridge
Edit: Added the story Casey Burns reminded me I left off in the comment below this one

While we're making wish lists, I think there was also an Usagi/Panda Khan backup story in one of the FB issues.

Stan...will you have AP’s available for this second edition?
New cover art is amazing. With a lower print run of 600 this will be the rarest HC Saga version.
Might be even tougher to find in the long run. Especially with all of us that are completists on here

There are no plans for HCs for the other books in the Saga second edition. I did not think that was right. What do you guys think? I could justify the HC for 2nd edition saga 1 because of the extreme rarity and high collector prices and thought it was fair to match the numbers to the other Saga HCs.Trevis Woods wrote:Stan...will you have AP’s available for this second edition?

With 600 more Saga 1 HCs, fans have a good chance of getting one at an affordable price, but the market for the first edition HCs would still be there though not as high.

Re: Usagi Yojimbo Saga vol. 1 LE hardcover reprint (2nd edit
I guess the question is will collectors who already have a 1st edition sit out getting a second edition or are they different enough that they will want it too. If it is the former then I think this will solve the problem. If it is the later then it probably won't and will actually create a new "hardest to get your hands on" item.Stan Sakai wrote:With 600 more Saga 1 HCs, fans have a good chance of getting one at an affordable price, but the market for the first edition HCs would still be there though not as high.
