Congratulations Stan! There is a reason you won. Your series though it may have been written for an older audience appeals to all.

It is well loved in my family. I first introduced my oldest daughter May to Usagi when I read through the whole series for her when she was 6 or 7? When later she got into clay sculpting, she was determined to make an Usagi. This has become a tradition for her. My youngest daughter Summer who just turned 6 immediately told me when she saw me looking at the Usagi plush "That's cute, I want it". She plays with my Usagi figures that I have and makes me play with her. She comes up with the stories. Whenever she sees me stressed out she draws me an Usagi character. My 9 yo son Tim likes lego and has tried to make an Usagi out of it, but since we don't have many blocks he hasn't been able to figure it out yet how to construct Usagi yet. Whenever I buy a new paperback and after I have read it with my kids, I always find it in my son's bed.

I wrote more than I originally intended. Thank you for creating such a great and amazing series which has never declined in quality. Thank you and a well deserved congratulations!

Congratulations, Stan! I can't remember if Usagi has won a "Best Continuing Series" before. Regardless, I think the current IDW run is some of the best Usagi storytelling yet. I'm really enjoying it and glad to see you recognized for it this year. Peace, maka

This is what I was thinking too not long ago when I was looking at the Eisener Award categories, and I thought, "why hasn't Usagi won Best Continuing Series yet? If any series deserves this award, Usagi Yojimbo does!" .... and then this news. Super cool!! :D

Thank you all! The Best Continuing Series award was a huge surprise to me.

Congratulations also to Peach Momoko for Best Cover Artist and to The Laughing Ogre for the Eisner Spirit of Retailer award. To see my connection to the Laughing Ogre, watch the video at about the 40:30 mark.

That's cool. Did you do that for them at CXC 2016?

The mask is a very recent addition. it is not even on the logo shown in the video.

The art was done even before 2016, I think. I had been going to the Mid-Ohio Con for years, before Roger Price sold it. There was always a pre-show get together at the Laughing Ogre the night before the con opened. I remember Jeff Smith introducing me to Chris Lloyd, the Ogre's owner.

Congratulations. Very well deserved. Usagi is popular in my household not just with me but with my daughter as well who enjoys all the stories.
