Ordering Art of Usagi

Post by David »

I am not sure if this has already been covered, sorry if it is a repetition.

Amazon.co.uk only has the paperback edition of The Art of Usagi Yojimbo. I will have to order the book (hardcover) from somewhere else, and because I could not find the Usagi toy around here either I might get it at the same time.

A few years ago I did ordered the elusive Lone Goat and child volume from Mars (which for what I have read belongs to a member of the dojo).

So, do fellow members of the Dojo have any suggestions for me? Do you know of any shops in London that do have the book?

And if not, is there a preferred store in the Dojo?

Thanks in advance.

I just ordered it from Heritage Source directly. Cost $40 for the book and $26 for the shipping to the UK.

You could always ask in the new Forbidden Planet shop on Shaftsbury Avenue if they stock it or could order it in for you.

There is no paperback edition of The Art of UY nor, as far as I was told, no plans to print one. There is only the regular hardcover edition available. Nor is there any signed and numbered edition. The book has a cover price of $39.95 US.

Amazon.com.uk does list it as a paperback, but it is obviously an error.

It is not the first nor will it be the last error that Amazon.com makes in it listings. I have seen books listed under unofficial working titles, under wrong authors, errors in descriptions and bibliographical details, even listings of totally non-existant books, etc... you name it and Amazon.com has messed it up somewhere, sometime..

You can probably still order the Art of Usagi Yojimbo through them...

Thank you for all your replies. I feel a bit silly now.

I will make the order later and the pre-order of "Fathers and sons".

Thanks again.

Sensei,
Wasn't there supposed to be a signed and number edition of The Art of Usagi? I pre-ordered my copy as soon as it posted on the Things From Another World web site. I swore the copy I ordered was signed and numbered. After a while the listing for this book changed and the price dropped. Was it decided not to do the signed copy due to printing delays? Anyway, I'll bring my book to ComicCon.

Also I noticed when looking through the book that some pics from 1994 were copyrighted "Usagi Studios" what was the purpose of "Usagi Studios" and is it still a going concern. I didn't find that copy right any where else?

Thank you,

Dranatha

Usagi Studios is the name of Stan's company. I believe it was coined in the early 90s after Stan went to Mirage. It still exists, though it is not prominently displayed anywhere.
