Teenage Mutant Ninja Rabbit...

Post by Steve Hubbell »

What can I say, except that it was great... so much better than the Battle Nexus. "The Real World" part 1 managed to squeeze so much (except the kumori ninja who will hopefully be included in the DVD release?) into one story, it is hard to not want more. It really makes me wish that part 2 was also going to take place in Usagi's World.

So, without giving any spoilers, who all watched this and what are your opinions? Personnally, I think Mirage (or whoever does the Turtles series) should produce an animated Usagi Yojimbo cartoon series. I can honestly say that I haven't enjoyed a cartoon that much in a long time.

That was cool. Seeing Tomoe and Chizu made my day.

Shouldn't Stan have been acknowledged in the credits?

Is it just me, or did they make Tomoe seem a little bit more like the damsel in distresss instead of the bada** she really is?

I thought so, too. And the voice sure didn't help matters-- though toward the end she was a little more her "self"--

I wanted Lucy Liu, but the budget couldn't afford it.

It looks like the latest Diamond Previews is offering the TMNT season 3, volume 3 DVD which contains this story (page 552). Previews also has the UY 2006 calendar (page 424).

Mmm... Good choice. Lucy Liu would've been great. Too bad she missed the opportunity to work in what could have been her greatest role... 8) .

Cool... Glad to hear Season 3 is already set for release on DVD. Also glad to hear that there is another Usagi Yojimbo Calendar scheduled. I hadn't realized that the new issue of Previews was already available...
I'll pick up a copy tomorrow.

First-- Lucy Lu-- AH-hahahahahaha!

Second-- in the scene where they reach the river (Gen's shortcut)-- seriously, didn't it look like the horses were plotting something?

Third-- YEAH! I can't WAIT for the DVD-- the tape I made is okay, but I have to ff through the commercials. And I am basically a lazy person.

Fourth-- the Mogura fight scene was GREAT!

Fifth-- Do you think 4kids will make a series of U.Y.? And will the Turtles go back to Usagi's world in season 4?

I'm serious-- those horses were certainly plotting something...

I found a website on which you already can preorder the 2006 calendar. Here's the back of the calendar:

New calendar!!! Yeah!!!
Looks great. My 2005 is up at work and I get a lot of comments on it. Even found a few UY fans that way.

I loved the newest episode, even though it was "rushed" because of it being a half hour cartoon. I thought Tomoe a little 'damselish', too, but it wasn't horribly overdone, and it was great to have her in there, along with all the other characters we got to see.

I also agree that it would be so great if this crew could do a Usagi cartoon, too....
But at least, I will enjoy every episode that has Usagi in it.
