Hey Todd,
Can you set up a permenet link in the appropriate place for Colin Solan's Usagi Yojimbo (Fanart) Sketchbook? It sure is pretty cool and deserves a permanent link..

I have FINALLY gotten the first six issues of the Belgium Edition of Usagi Yojimbo published by Enigma and they are great.
BUT, I personally think a couple of the drawings on Colin Solan's sketchbook page are a lot better looking than a few of the artists interpretations featured on the backcovers of the Enigma books...

I really enjoy seeing other artists' interpretation of Usagi. That's the reason I pushed for a guest artist section in the Art of UY.
I also collect sketches. Some of the Usagi sketches I've got in my book are: Geoff Darrow, Guy Davis, Paul Chadwick, Mark Crilley, Peter Laird, Matt Feazell, Scott Shaw!, Charles Vess, Bill Tucci, Zander Cannon, Adam Warren, Igor Korday, Azpiri, and (of course) Sergio Aragones. I also have other sketches such as a Judge Dredd by Mike Oeming who I first met in 1994, Old Joe by Scott Morse, Captain America by Jack Kirby, and even Spider-man by Stan Lee.

I sure wish there was a way you could share "your" sketchbook with us, that would be so cool. I suppose the guset artist section of the "Art of Usagi Yojimbo" was pretty close.Stan Sakai wrote:I really enjoy seeing other artists' interpretation of Usagi. I "still" love Sergio's drawing of Usagi and Groo's first meeting from way back in Albedo #3.

For anyone who wants to share their sketch collection I highly recommend the site I use (http://comicartfans.com). It's easy to use and, best of all, 100% free. All you need is a scanner to make gif files of the sketches. great way to show off your collection.
