Hello Stan -

It's been a while since A-Kon and I hope life finds you well.

I've been lurking on this forum for a while but haven't created an account until now. However, I wanted to share a little picture I did in a fit of creativity. I think I remember you saying that you didn't have a high-speed connection at home, but hopefully it won't take you too long to download!

Now, I don't know how likely it would be for sparks from a sword scratching the ground setting sake on fire, but heck, it made for a dramatic effect.

So when are you headed back to Dallas, Stan? (I think I said you're going to Houston, but Dallas folks don't really like going there  ). Next time, I pay for dinner!

Hi Naomi,

Wonderful drawing. I love the colors and the fire effects. I did think of a similar idea to yours for the story in which Usagi fought the Nue for DH UY #3. I was going to have the bodyguards of the merchant's daughter drinking while on duty when Usagi comes out and reprimands them. The Nue attacks and Usagi uses his sword and flint to set fire to the sake', burning the monster. But I didn't know if sake' had enough alcohol to burn so I turned to my good friend Sergio.

=ring ring=
"Hola."
"Sergio, it's me, Stan. Can you light sake'?"
"I call you back."

=ring ring=
"Hello?"
"Nope. I tried it. Didn't burn."
"Okay. Thanks. Bye."
"Adios."

What a friend. He opened up a bottle just to see if it would burn. I never even wondered why he had a bottle of sake' in his studio.

I enjoyed our dinner. Unfortunately, I won't make it to A-Kon this year. Sharon and I have been invited to Anime North a couple of weeks before, then it's off to San Francisco right after.
