Reuben nomination

Post by Stan Sakai »

I was informed by NCS president Steve McGarry that I am one of three nominees for the Reuben Award in the Comic Book category. The other two nominees are Terry Moore (Strangers in Paradise) and Mike Mignola (Hell Boy).

The Reuben is presented by the National Cartoonists Society whose members form a Who's Who of comic strip, comic book, animation, illustration and editorial cartoonists. The award is named after Rube Goldberg.

The award ceremony will take place during the Reuben Weekend in San Francisco in late May.

Congratulations! Good Luck on Memorial Day Weekend!

By the way, Usagi was not drawn in the frontpage picture on the Reuben Awards' webpage... , maybe we should tell them...

Congratulations! Just being nominated is an honor (but of course we want Mr. Sakai to win) Past winners are impressive: Don Perlin '97, Alex Ross '98, Chris Ware '99, Dan DeCarlo '00, Frank Cho '01. And this year's nominations are outstanding too.

Best of luck!
