He played the hotel manager in the Redd Fox movie "Norman is that You?". I think he even had one of his Mad paperback books.

He played a Mexican cop in the Donald Plesence movie "To Kill a Stranger". I think Aldo Ray was also in it. Sergio tells a great story about meeting one of his favorite comedians Marty Feldman who was in Mexico filming Yellow Beard.. Sergio was still in costume when he excited ran up to the actor. Marty was obviously stoned, and even more bug-eyed than usual to see this Mexican cop yelling and running over to him. Feldman died that night.

Sergio also appeared as a regular in a few TV series including The New Laugh-in and Speak out America.

Howdy,

At some point in grad school (this would be 1992-1993), I remember seeing Sergio in some sitcom my roommate was watching, along with a bunch of other comics pros. I was walking through the TV room when he says to me, "Hey, Ed, there's some comic book guys on this show. Do you know any of them?" So I look over on the TV and go, "Holy crap! That's SERGIO!"

I don't remember the name of the show, but Sergio looked mighty good. It was set at some awards ceremony, so he was all duded up in a tux. I think Todd McFarlane may have been there, too.

That was an episode of the Bob Newhart sitcom, Bob. Newhart played a comic book artist. In that particular show, he was nominated for an award. I don't remember if he won or not, but other nominees included Jim Lee, Todd McFarlane, and Bob Kane (who let others do the work, but took all the credit).

Artist/Actor Paul Power was a regular on that series. Paul was also in the Rock's movie Run Down. Paul is the guy at the beginning who beat up the Rock with a bean bag gun.

Do you remember an episode of The Hulk starring Bill Bixby, in which Jack Kirby had a cameo appearance as a police sketch artist?
