Do the hard cover tpbs have anything in that isn't available in the soft cover?

I hope not or I'll have to start collecting them as well.

The Fantagraphics books have a few extras, some of which have been reprinted.

Book 1--early sketchbook stuff
Book 2--three pages of the first UY story drawn and sketchbook stuff
Book 3--reprints all the covers from the Fantagraphics run, Albedo, Critters, Color Specials, and the Summer Special
Book 4--Return to Adachigahara 8 page watercolor story
Book 5--Step by step look at how I create an Usagi story
Book 6--The Treaty, TMNT crossover
Book 7--Hebi, 8 page story

It looks like I may have to track down one or two of those as well then. Though having seen a copy of Book 2 being sold second hand on Amazon for about £300

it might take some time...

The story "Hebi" was incorperated along with "The Courage of the Plum" (from Radio Comix's Art of Usgi Yojimbo #1) into the story "Snakes and Blossoms" along with 4 new pages in Usagi Yojimbo Book 11: Seasons.

"Hebi" was also reprinted in the Goldrush Games' Usagi Yojimbo Role Playing Game book back in Jan/1997.

"The Treaty" was originally published in Mirage's Shell Shock tpb back in Dec/1989
